About Adriana

Once upon a time a little girl was born in a small capital city of a not big but also not unimportant country. The place was known as Prague, located, of course, in the Czech Republic.

This little girl had an incomplete family consisting only of her mum and grandmum and desperately needed and hoped to meet her fater. But things went differetly and so her childhood passed without her dream beeing fulfilled.

Her self-confidence was low and she did not have lots of friends. Nothing unexpected for a little shy girl, we could say. And because she wanted to fight off her complexes, she always wished to have nice relationships and was attracted to people, therefore she naturally wanted to study psychology. Her life developed differently though… when doing her christmas shopping once she was spotted by a photographer and offered to participate in an artistic project as a Model. Nice as an experience, but other that that she did not like it a lot.

Then a time of change begun at the age of 22. Adriana, which was her name, was moving from one apartment to another, changing not only places to live in but also jobs and boyfriends. This unhappy and unbalanced young girl used to go dancing a lot; dance was and still is one of her passions. Waking up on a Sunday morning, she realised she needed to start taking photos of people. How simple she thought, bought herself a camera and her life changed.

It took her lots of full dust bins to understand at least basics of photography, she met lots of interesting people around photos and shot lots of beautiful people from the inside and also from the outside. Her first exhibitions came and went, leaving her dust bins fuller than ever before. One can say the best friend of a photographer is a dust bin and that’s it.

Even being in this modern age in the 21st century, our now not so little girl never stopped to use classical technologies. Her Black and White photos were taken on films and developed manually by herself. Adri (how her friends called her) also had a digital camera but used it only for colourful photos and travels.

One might ask why on Earth did this person choose to dedicate her life to photos, and the answer she would give could possibly go like this: I love people, I love to express their and my emotions in the very same picture and I keep my own balance by simply creating. I would never feel I have learned enough about people´s minds so I keep learning by observing them through a lense.

Our fairytale character is at the age of 31 when this story ends for now. How is it going to continue? Are her photos of interest to you? Do you feel like getting invovled and perhaps buying one of her pieces? Would you feel like letting her know your impressions from her work? Please do let her know, she would be very grateful... In due course you would have your very own part in her personal story to yet continue.
